Howard Harry Ford
Below is a photo of both Howard Ford (right) and his brother Roland (left). These two incredible Canadians from Meadow Lake Saskatchewan fought side by side on Vimy Ridge in 1917. During the attack Roland would watch his brother be fatally hit and ran to his side to be with him. Just before he passed, Howard smiled and motioned for Roland to carry on. He would in fact carry on to take Vimy ridge that day, a feat that no other army had been able to accomplish. With his brother's passing in his mind, he soldiered on to, in his words, "Pay back a little debt to Fritzy". Below is the letter that Roland sent his family to let them know of his passing.
They do not make them like they used to, and those goosebumps are free.
Rest in peace, Howard.
